It would have also been beneficial to record the battalions so we could search by army unit. This would have made it a much more powerful research tool.

The problem I have is that you can’t search within the SLSA catalogue under ‘Heroes of the Great War’ for individuals. A bit painful that the search results sort alphabetically by rank [why?] rather than surname!

Anyhow, I worked out to search Katie’s spreadsheet. ok if you have located this page. Seems like reverse engineering to me.

Will be great if the Red Cross files can be linked. Hopefully they’re adequately indexed in first place?!
